Site Description
The cliffs vary in height, and are steep grass and clay covered, care should be taken when transiting to the higher cliffs at Ravenscar as the wind direction and strength will change.
With height it is possible to move back onto the inland ridge behind take off although pilots should be aware that the slope is shallow in places, and there are numerous hazards e.g. power lines quarry trees etc.
Basic Information
Access to the farm is directly from the unclassified road from Ravenscar to Stoupe Beck Sands.

There is a (inexpensive) paid car park a short distance further down the hill near to Stoupe Beck Sands.

Site Rules
For the sea cliffs, competent CP pilot and above.
For back ridge, Pilot and above.
A) Cayley Club member only site
B) Contact Land Owner to arrange parking on site.
C) To Avoid Seal Disturbance: Stay at least 100 meters (and ideally much higher vertically) away from seal haul-out sites, pupping beaches. (https://www.pembrokeshiremarinecode.org.uk/codes-of-conduct/).
Guidance and Information:
i. Pilots should make a site assessment based on the conditions and choose a suitable launch area, within the indicated zone.
ii. Be mindful there is likely to be rotor behind take off. As with any cliff landing you must ensure you can land safely clear of rotor or land on the beach.
iii. If landing on the beach, there is a footpath from the inlet to the North of take off to get back onto the cliff top.
iv. Ensure you know the tide times as the sea come to the base of the cliff along this coast. If there is insufficient beach to make a safe landing do not launch.
v. As this is a newly flown site. Pilots should treat this site with caution and satisfy themselves that it is safe to fly and within their individual piloting skills.
vi. Pilots should avoid flying over Robin Hoods Bay as the cliffs to the north of the village will not have the same wind direction as the launch area.
vii. Pilots should read the general guidance on flying cliff sites.
